One of my new favorites for sure!
Amy Curry has had some problems in her past that have lead her to hate driving and being in the car. When her mother moves to Connecticut, to escape some past problems, Amy stays behind to finish the school year. Then Amy hears news that she’s responsible for taking her mother’s car to Connecticut, except Amy won’t be the one driving. Roger, some family friend that Amy has no memory of, will be accompanying her.
When Roger arrives at Amy’s house to embark on the trip, Amy realizes something… Roger is rather attractive. And that means this trip is going to be anything but easy.
Soon Amy and Roger break away from the directions, Amy’s mother left, and plunge into their epic detour full of self discovery and excitement.
I loved Amy, and even though she seemed kind of depressed at the beginning, she soon came out of her shell with Roger. Roger was also amazing and was really nice to Amy, which I enjoyed. The settings were also very well developed.
I cried, I laughed, and did everything in between while reading this book! It makes ME want to take a road trip! This was such a great summer read and I can’t wait to see what Morgan Matson has in store for us next!
